No reader accounts

You don't need an account to read newsflo, and we don't ask you to create one. We don't know who you are.

What stays on your device

Your reading preferences (style, text size, dark mode, reader view) and your reading history — which stories you've opened, when you last visited and what's "new" since then — are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your own device. None of it is sent to our servers, and we have no way to see it.

No tracking, yet

We don't run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on the site today, and we don't set tracking cookies. If that changes in the future, this page will say so first.

Error monitoring

If something on the site breaks, technical details about the error — such as the page you were on, the browser you used and what went wrong — may be sent to Sentry, the error-monitoring tool we use to find and fix bugs. This never includes anything you typed, read, or any way to identify you personally.

The newsflo Clipper extension

The Clipper is a separate tool for our own newsroom staff, not for readers. Its privacy notes are on a different page, published for the Chrome Web Store listing.
